²² So King Jehoiakim sent men to Egypt—Elnathan son of Achbor and some others with him— ²³ and they brought Uriah back from Egypt, and led him to King Jehoiakim, who slew him with the sword and threw his corpse into the burial place of the common people.

²⁴ Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, so that they did not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
